School trip to Praha

This year was for me the last one at the « Collège St Joseph » (I hope so !) and I’ve got a lot of good memories. But there is one thing that I want to tell above all. From the 17/04/09 to the 22/04/09, a part of my classmates and me went to Praha for a last school trip, before the end of this final year. And that was really nice and interesting.

We travelled by coach, it took about fifteen hours. We had to get through Germany to enter the Czech Republic and we arrived to Praha early in the morning, at seven o’clock. We spent all the first day to visit the whole city with a guide. The buildings were splendid and the streets are absolutely clean there. Fortunately, the hotel was very comfortable and we were glad to find our beds.

The second day, we visited « Karlovy Vary », a famous thermal city. The water coming from the local sources is used to cure people. But for me, this water was a bit… horrible. It had a metallic taste. After the lunch, we decided to go to the swimming pool. But it was closed just for this day and we were disgusted.

The third day was sad and horrifying. We visited Terezin, a fortress that was used like a concentration camp by the Nazis during the second world war. You’ve got to go and see it by yourself to realize how much this place was terrible for the prisonners.

The last day, we visited the Jewish districts of Praha and the teachers let us shopping the rest of the day. We arrived to Chimay the day after at 8 o’clock. I’ll never forget this wonderful trip.
